These new guards looked a lot livelier than the brulonyons, though they stood just as still. They wore wide leather belts with a scabbard and sword on each hip. Each held spears in one hand with the butt of the shaft resting on the ground and a glistening blade pointing into the air. Giving weapons to the guards looked about as necessary as loaning a slingshot to a tiger. The two-inch claws that curved from each of their fingers looked like they could rip rocks. A set of four canines protruded over their lips in the fashion of wild boars, two pointing up and two pointing down. Their heads were all jaw with tiny little eyes and a pair of nose slits slapped on as an afterthought. Scales rippled over their massive shoulder and thigh muscles and across their bulging chests. If Godzilla were four feet tall and blue, he could pass for their skinny cousin.
